JOE FARIA  is a self-taught artist who was born in the Azores, Portugal. He trained in several building trades in the Cambridge and Somerville public schools including the Coyne School of Practical Electricity in Boston. He worked at Harvard University Faculty of Arts and Sciences from 1981 through 2008. His areas of resposibility were the Biological Laboratories, Semitic Museum, East Asian Languages and Civilazations, Vanserg Classrooms and art studios. He enjoys experimenting with found materials and created a new and original technique of making artwork using cardboard and cardstock. His work has been in showings locally at the Five Sparks Cultural Collaborrative in Harvard, MA and the Parish for the Arta in Westford, MA.
