"Growing up in near Walden Pond and the Concord River, I have fond memories of walks and canoe trips through landscapes that seemed to have molded me. I am subconsciously drawn back to locations where old memories are triggered, new ones are formed, and there is a peaceful feeling.  I strive to strip down the landscape to its most essential elements. My hope is that my work will, from a distance, read as the landscape, and, as the viewers gets closer, they will see and enjoy the abstract forms that are at play.  I am moving through paint into the distant horizon, to be drawn back again, but changed by the process." – Jonathan MacAdam
